Teaching

Thomas Martens was a lecturer at the Universities of Kiel, Bremen and Frankfurt as well as at the Universities of Applied Sciences Fresenius and Darmstadt and has taught many courses in the fields of educational psychology, methodology, social psychology and environmental psychology. He has systematically expanded his knowledge of higher education through further training and successfully participated in the supplementary course for graduates “Teaching Qualification in Science and Higher Education” at the Centre for Higher and Further Education (formerly IZHD) at the University of Hamburg. Tailored to the respective learning goals and teaching resources, he uses a number of different teaching and learning forms, ranging from group puzzles to project methods. In addition, he provides customised support of the learning scenarios through multimedia and e-learning, an adapts his ongoing teaching with formative evaluation. His research findings on regulation of learning and motivation are systematically incorporated into the design of his courses.

Thomas Martens is full professor at the Medical School Hamburg (W3) and teaches educational psychology.
